Kype Muir Community Partnership
The Kype Muir Community Fund uses income generated by the OnPath Energy (previously Banks) Kype Muir Windfarm to provide support to eligible local projects that provide social, economic and/or environmental benefit. The geography of the fund covers communities in South Lanarkshire within a 10 km radius of the Wind Farm. Priority is given to projects in the Community Council areas of Lesmahagow, Sandford and Upper Avondale, Stonehouse, Strathaven & Glassford and Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill and Boghead. Point North (Point North Community Foundation trading as Point North, previously known as County Durham Community Foundation) manages the Community Fund on behalf of OnPath Energy.
Boghead Community Group together with Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Villages Coordination Group form part of the Kype Muir Community Panel, which helps oversee the Fund. Funding will be linked to projects in the Community Consultation Summary and Action Plan, which for Boghead, Blackwood & Kirkmuihill, is available below.
Before applying to the Kype Muir Community Funds, groups must discuss their project with a member of the Community Groups. To start this conversation, send an email to kmcp@boghead.community.
